Image of Perini Ranch shipping operation for Mesquite Smoked Peppered Beef Tenderloin

From Our Ranch to Your Front Door!

When the holidays are coming, our beef tenderloin shipping operation gets extra busy. We’ve come a long way since that struggle in 1995 to get things going after that surprising New York Times story! Mail-order food wasn’t mainstream then like it is now, and we’ve learned a lot. Oprah’s Favorite Things included our tenderloin in 2021, and it was a Neiman Marcus catalog fantasy gift in 2021. Who would ever think something from Perini Ranch would be a Neiman’s fantasy?

Orders come in fast and furious from all over the nation, and some people order as many as 100 at once for corporate gifts. We have a crew of nearly 20 working all day long on an assembly line, cold-packing the tenderloins (they are shipped fully cooked) in insulated boxes. They’re often packaged with cookbooks and meat rubs and coffee, too. FedEx sends a team of employees every day during the holidays to help get boxes sealed and loaded on trucks. Some go out from the Abilene airport and others to DFW airport, depending on whether they’re headed to places east or west. The mail-order tenderloin gives folks who don’t have the opportunity to come here a chance to taste and experience Perini Ranch Steakhouse.

With thousands of Perini Ranch Mesquite Smoked Peppered Beef Tenderloins shipped each year from our little corner of West Texas, maybe a few less people are wondering, “Where the hell is Buffalo Gap?”
